The Waupaca School Board wasted little time in finding a new athletic and activities director for the district. This morning the board gave unanimous approval on a two year contract for current Amherst High School Athletic Director Joe Sbertoli. Sbertoli was one of two candidates interviewed by the district following the resignation of Aaron Jenson. Jenson submitted his resignation early last week, as he transitions into the position of City Administrator for the city of Waupaca. Sbertoli has been athletic director and phy. ed. teacher at Amherst since 2015. The Tomorrow River School District board will act on his resignation tonight. His background includes assistant coaching roles in both football and basketball in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. He has worked in education since 2011. In Waupaca, Sbertoli receives a 2-year contract, paying 70-thousand dollars annually.
