An autopsy is expected to be done today on a body found in a burning S-U-V Saturday morning in New London. City police were called to the burning vehicle on Henry Street around 9:30, and found the S-U-V fully engulfed. As an officer tried to use a fire extinguisher on the blaze, he saw there was an occupant inside. Fire personnel then arrived and put out the fire. No positive identification has yet been made on the victim. The state fire marshal’s office is assisting in the investigation, but authorities say they don’t believe any foul play was involved.
