A New London man will serve 10 years in prison following sentencing in a Waupaca County child homicide case. 36 year old John Brush was originally charged with reckless homicide in the death of a 3 year old child that was in his care in June of 2015. He pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of reckless endangerment in a plea deal. The child died of severe head trauma according to authorities. Brush told police the child fell down the stairs, but an autopsy report concluded the child’s injuries were not consistent with a fall. Along with 10 years in prison, Brush will serve 5 years extended supervision upon his release.
