An Appleton man is free on a 2000 dollar signature bond following domestic abuse-related charges in Waupaca County Circuit Court. 29 year old John R. Bush faces felony counts of strangulation and suffocation and false imprisonment, along with misdemeanor counts of battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. The criminal complaint alleges an intoxicated Bush choked, punched and slapped a female in New London last Wednesday, causing multiple bruising and swollen lips to the female. He is also alleged to have broken a chair and a camera, and resisted officers attempts to handcuff him. The complaint alleges his blood-alcohol level was .22. If convicted, Bush could face up to a dozen years behind bars. He is due back in court September 17th.
