Candidates running for area state offices have confirmed they will participate in a debate in Waupaca next week. The debate, being sponsored by the Waupaca Area Chamber of Commerce business advocacy committee, will be at the Ale House on State Hiway 54 West, and will begin at 6:30. Incumbant Assemblyman Kevin Peterson, a Republican, is being challenged by Democrat Dmitri Martin. And Republican State Senator Luther Olsen is challenged by Democrat Brian Smith. The Assembly candidates will square off first, with the two state Senate candidates following at 7:30. Area residents can submit questions, in writing, in advance or at the Alehouse Wednesday evening. You may drop them in boxes placed at Neumann’s Piggly Wiggly or at the chamber office on Main Street, or email them to info@WaupacaAreaChamber.com.
