A New London man makes his initial appearance in Waupaca County Circuit Court Tuesday facing multiple drug offenses. 59 year-old Charles E. Chapman faces felony counts of manufacturing marijuana, and maintaining a drug trafficking place, along with 4 misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
The criminal complaint alleges Chapman had a pot growing operation going on his property off Davis Road in the Town of Lebanon. The complaint alleges authorities caught Chapman on video tending to over 30 three-four foot tall plants this fall. While executing a search warrant, authorities also say they found mason jars and baggies filled with harvested marijuana in the home, along with a handgun.
If convicted, Chapman could face up to nine years in prison.
