The Waupaca City Council has given the go-ahead for phase 2 of the upcoming downtown re-development project. This week the council approved various contracts with design and engineering companies for work downtown, and for the city hall parking lot, adjacent streets, and some landscaping. The total of the contracts is nearly 645-thousand dollars. That money will be funded by capital borrowing over the next 2 to 3 years. The actual reconstruction of Main Street has been pushed back to 2021 because of delays in getting state funding.
