Waupaca County health officials today confirmed the first case of Covid-19 in the county. County Health Officer Jed Wohlt says the person confirmed with the virus is under self-quarantine. No other details regarding the person with the virus have been released. Wohlt said, “We have been preparing and anticipating for a confirmed case in Waupaca County. We will work closely with the Department of Health Services to ensure we are taking all the appropriate next steps.” Wohlt also reminds county residents to be vigilant in protecting their health, by frequently washing their hands with soap and water, wiping surfaces with cleansing wipes often, and maintaining 6-feet of social distancing space. As of mid-afternoon today, Wisconsin had 585 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 7 deaths.
