A Waupaca County hiway worker was hurt in a two vehicle crash on U.S. Hiway 10 Monday afternoon just south of the city of Waupaca. Waupaca police say a semi heading west on 10 slammed into a county hiway truck that was parked in the right lane with it’s emergency lights activated, along with a flashing arrow to warn motorists to merge into the other lane of traffic. Portions of Hiway 10 lanes are being closed down this week for routine maintenence. The county truck has an impact cushion mounted on it, which police say helped soften the impact of the crash. The county worker in the truck, and the semi driver, were both taken to Theda-Care Waupaca hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. There names have not yet been released.
