A New London man accused of shooting at law enforcement officers Friday, injuring one, is expected in Waupaca County Court this afternoon. 62 year old James Dax is facing multiple counts of attempted homicide and reckless endangerment, along with charges of domestic abuse aggravated battery. SWAT teams from Waupaca, Outagamie, and Wood Counties executed a search warrant at Dax’s Town of Mukwa residence Friday, after a female told officers she was allegedly beaten by Dax in late August. He allegedly opened fire on the officers, striking one. The sheriff’s office has not released the identity of that officer. Dax was charged in 2012 with firing a shot in the presence of law enforcement. In that case he pleaded no contest to reckless endangerment with a weapon, and was placed on two year’s probation.
