Waupaca County deer hunters should have plenty of opportunities to bag a deer this fall. The county’s deer advisory council this week voted to set the county’s anterless deer harvest quota at 11,380, and voted against an anterless-only deer season. And 7200 anterless bonus tags will be available for private land hunters, and 300 for those who hunt public land. The state’s Natural Resources Board must still approve the advisory council’s recommendations. Their meeting is set for late May. Waupaca County hunters harvested 13,075 deer last year. The DNR estimates there are just over 64-thousand deer roaming the county.
