An Iola man is being held on a 500 dollar cash bond following his 6th alcohol-related driving offense. 36 year old Joseph A. Derus is charged in Waupaca County Court with operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration–6th offense, along with operating while revoked and failure to install an ignition interlock device. The criminal complaint says Derus was pulled over in Waupaca Thursday for driving with a revoked license. The complaint alleges his blood-alcohol concentration was .041 percent, above the .02 percent level for a person with four or more drunk driving convictions. If convicted, Derus could face up to 10 years in prison. He is due back in court next Tuesday.
