Area law enforcement agencies are joining a driving safely campaign for the upcoming holidays. The “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” initiative will put extra officers on the roads, including high-visibility enforcement task forces, to crack down on impaired drivers. In 2018 in Wisconsin, 160 people were killed and nearly 33-hundred motorists were injured in alcohol-related crashes. To keep from becoming a statistic, authorities encourage motorists to report impaired drivers by calling 9-1-1. Also, never let someone under the influence get behind the wheel…. some taverns and restaurants have programs to provide a safe ride home. And authorities say to make sure everyone in your vehicle is buckled up, every time, and watch your speed and eliminate distractions. The holiday campaign runs from December 13th through New Year’s Day.
