Waupaca County emergency personnel dealt with a second death Sunday when they were called to a drowning in rural Fremont. The sheriff’s office was called just before 4 pm from a residence in the Town of Caledonia, with a report of a man drowning in a pond behind a residence. When officers arrived 37 year old Daniel C. Lewis of Fremont had been removed from the water and CPR had been started. Lewis was taken by ambulance to ThedaCare Hospital in Neenah, where he was pronounced dead. The incident remains under investigation.
