Two area men are facing drug charges in separate cases in Waupaca County Circuit Court. 30 year old Tony K. Tomaro of Manawa is free on a 1000 dollar signature bond following a felony charge of marijuana possession– 2nd offense. The criminal complaint alleges Tomaro had a baggie of pot with him following a traffic stop in the Town of Royalton last Thursday. He has a marijuana possession conviction from 2007. If convicted on the new charge, he could face up to 3 and a half years in prison. Tomaro is due back in court next Tuesday.
Meanwhile, 18 year old Cody D. Johnson of Waupaca faces a amphetamine possession charge, along with a felony count of bail jumping. Johnson was stopped by a state trooper in the Town of Dayton earlier this month, and allegedly had psychedelic mushrooms in the vehicle. The bail jumping count stems from bond conditions on charges of burglary and theft from January. If convicted on the newest charges, Johnson could face up to 6 years in prison. He is due in court May 17th.
