The state Department of Transportation has begun a new campaign to try and stem the tide of drug-related traffic crashes in Wisconsin. According to the DOT, 149 people were killed in drug-related crashes last year. That’s is a nearly 200-percent increase over the previous decade. The TV and radio campaign is titled “Dose of Reality”. Attorney General Brad Schimel says it’s a myth that prescription drugs are totally safe because they are prescribed by a doctor. He says the reality is that driving under the influence of prescription drugs is just as dangerous a driving under the influence of alcohol.
