The Waupaca County Circuit Court is imposing some temporary emergency measures beginning on Monday, March 16th through May 15th, to help mitigate the spread of the coronavirus. Those measures include: any hearing that can be done by phone will proceed as scheduled by phone. If an individual has a court date scheduled before May 15th, they should contact their attorney for guidance. Also, effective March 23rd, all traffic, ordinance, and DNR intake dates are suspended. All criminal intake is suspended during this time period, and any already filed cases will be adjourned to a date and time beyond May 15th. All temporary order hearings before the Family Court Commissioner will be done by phone, as will all small claims hearings before the Small Claims Commissioner. There also will be no jury trials held on or before May 15th, unless required by statute. The Waupaca County Courthouse remains open, and any change to that status will be noted on the county’s website.
