A New London man is being held on a 1000 dollar cash bond following a felony charge of strangulation and suffocation. 48 year old Richard D. Epley made his initial appearance in Waupaca County Court Tuesday, also facing misdemeanor counts of battery, disorderly conduct, and criminal damage to property. The complaint alleges Epley choked a female during a domestic altercation in New London last Friday. He also allegedly caused injuries to the woman’s torso and leg, and allegedly broke her phone by throwing it against a wall. If convicted, Epley could face up to 6 years in prison. He is due back in court next Tuesday.
