A home in the Town of Farmington was damaged in a fire Sunday afternoon. Waupaca area firefighters responded to the call just after 3 pm at N2313 South McCrossen Road. The 71 year old female occupant of the home called in the fire. She was on oxygen, and could not get herself out of the home. Sheriff’s deputies were able to respond to the call quickly, and get her out…. two officers and the woman were then taken to the hospital for evaluation. Fire crews found a kitchen fire when they arrived, and they were able to contain the fire to that area, although the entire home suffered smoke and water damage. Two cats were also rescued from the home. Firefighters from Amherst, Scandinavia, Almond, and Weyauwega assisted in battling the blaze. Crews were on the scene for about an hour and a half. Damage to the home is estimated at 45-thousand dollars.
