Three buildings were destroyed in a fire late Monday afternoon in the Town of Waupaca. The Waupaca Area Fire Department was called to the scene, at N2652 Harrington Road, just after 5 pm. for a barn fire. Assistant Fire Chief Kim Nelson says when they arrived, they found 3 buildings on fire and beginning to collapse. The blaze even spread to the rear of the house, where firefighters removed some siding to extinguish the fire. In all, Nelson says the three buildings and contents, along with a truck and other equipment, were destroyed. Officials say it appears the fire started in the area of a debris burn that was taking place east of the structures, then spread to the first building. There were no injuries. Crews from Manawa, Weyauwega, Scandinavia, and Saxeville helped fight the fire. Crews were on the scene for about 3 hours.
