A home in New London was destroyed by fire late Saturday morning. Fire crews were called just before noon to the Bruce and Tami Wolfgram home at 515 Fremont Street, and found the west side of the house engulfed in flames, with fire already burning through the roof. That fire also ignited a neighboring home on fire, so fire personnel sprayed that home with water to keep it from spreading, while others battled the initial blaze. Fire captain Don Conat says the first house was completely destroyed, while the second home suffered 10 to 20 thousand dollars in damage. The cause of the initial fire is still undetermined, but Conat says the homeowner was home at the time the fire started, and noticed the cover to an outdoor hot tub on fire. Because of the strong winds, he was unable to put it out.
