The Waupaca Area Fire Department was called out to the Waupaca Industrial Park, to Manufactured Pallet Disposal, Incorporated, for a structure fire Tuesday afternoon. Assistant Fire Chief Kim Nelson says they got the call just before 4:30, and found the fire in what’s called the “inferno pallet dryer.” Crews were able to remove some of the pallets that were inside the oven and extinguish the fire. Other crews ventilated the building. Firefighters were on the scene for about two and a half hours, with Weyauwega fire personnel assisting. Damage was estimated at around 300-thousand dollars, and there were no injuries reported.
