A forgery ring operating out of Wild Rose has been broken up, with five area residents being charged in Waupaca County Circuit Court. 34 year old Jack R. Raymond of Wild Rose, 53 year old Jack R. Scribner, Junior, of Iola, and 44 year old Jeffrey A. Scribner of Iola all face a single count of forgery, while 34 year old Brandi E. Sapp of Waupaca faces 7 counts, and 41 year old Kevin L. Woiak of New London is charged with 5 counts of forgery. The criminal complaint alleges Raymond took checks from a Wild Rose area business, forged one, and attempted to cash it at a Waupaca bank in May. Both Scribners, Sapp, and Woiak are alleged to have had forged checks written out to them, and they were also cashing them at area banks, taking the cash back to Raymond, but keeping a portion. Each forgery count carries maximum punishment of up to 6 years in prison. All five people charged will make initial appearances in court this month.
