A Wild Rose man is free on a 2000 dollar signature bond after being charged in Waupaca County Circuit Court with substantial battery– with use of a dangerous weapon.  34 year old Demerray J. Gilliam made his initial appearance on the charge Wednesday, as well as misdemeanor charges of criminal damage to property, carry a concealed weapon, and disorderly conduct with use of a dangerous weapon.  The criminal complaint alleges Gilliam wore brass knuckles when he allegedly struck his work supervisor in the face at Alliance Industries in the Town of Lind Monday evening.  The complaint says the victim received treatment at ThedaCare– Waupaca Hospital for a broken nose and lacerations.  If convicted, Gilliam could face up to 3 and a half years behind bars.  He is due back in court November 12th.
