The City of Waupaca will begin a search for a new police chief this month. Current Chief Tim Goke is retiring from law enforcement effective June 2nd, following a 30-year career. The 52 year old Goke came to Waupaca in 2003 as a lieutenant and was promoted to chief in 2004 after the retirement of then-Chief Bud O’Neill. Goke says he is not retiring from the work force…he’s already got employment lined up in the private sector. The city’s police and fire commission will begin discussing the hiring procedure for a new chief at their meeting on Tuesday.
