Governor Tony Evers made a stop in the Waupaca area Tuesday, joining other state officials in a groundbreaking ceremony for a new residence hall at the State Veterans Home in King. The new Moses Hall is named after John Moses, the longest serving Wisconsin Secretary of Veterans Affairs. It will be a 192-room facility with private rooms, and private bathrooms for veterans. Governor Evers says the new facility will be an example of future care for veterans. The Governor also says the state’s veteran population is expected to stay constant over the next decade. Currently there are about 350 thousand veterans in Wisconsin. Moses Hall is the first new construction at the King Veterans Home in 26 years.
