A Waupaca area non-profit organization is trying to raise money to create a new county park in the Town of Dayton. The group, “Working Together for Waupaca County”, or WTWC, envisions a park to adjoin Nelson County Park along the Crystal River near the Red Mill. The park would encompass one and a half acres of land currently owned by the Golding family, that includes a house and a barn. The family is looking to sell the land. WTWC says Tom Wilson, a former UW-Extension agent for the county, has already drawn up a preliminary plan for the park, including remodeling the barn to be used as a park shelter for family gatherings, wedding receptions, or other events. The group has broken down their plan of developing the park into three phases….. the first is to raise 200-thousand dollars to purchase the property.
