A Marshall, Wisconsin, man was convicted in a Stevens Point murder on Friday. 32 year old Kyle Engen was found guilty by a jury of shooting and killing 21 year old Deonta Lezine of Racine in March of 2016. The shooting occurred as Lezine and two friends tried to steal marijuana from Engen during a drug deal. Engen told the jury he acted in seft-defense. The jury didn’t buy the explanation, and convicted Engen of 2nd degree intentional homicide, two counts of attempted 2nd degree homicide, and a count of felon in possession of a firearm. No sentencing date has yet been set.
