An Iola man is being held on a 2000 dollar cash bond following multiple charges in Waupaca County Circuit Court Thursday. 57 year old Thomas C. Hobbs faces a felony count of battery to a law enforcement officer, along with misdemeanor counts of resisting and disorderly conduct. The criminal complaint says New London Police were called to a business location early Wednesday morning where Hobbs was allegedly causing a disturbance. He was taken to the police station, where the complaint says he continued acting in an odd manner, and was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Then at 10:45 that evening police were called to a New London grocery store, where again, Hobbs was allegedly causing a disturbance. While physically being removed from the store, Hobbs allegedly injured an officer’s hand. If convicted, he could face up to 6 years in prison. He is due back in court July 3rd.
