A Waupaca man is being held in jail on a 2000 dollar cash bond following charges of threatening police officers. 30 year old Nathaniel R. Hoffman faces two felony counts of threats to law enforcement officers, along with a misdemeanor count of resisting. The criminal complaint alleges he threatened to kill two Waupaca officers as they struggled to take him into custody after a night of drinking Saturday evening. The complaint says police had to place Hoffman in leg shackles to get him into a squad car. The complaint also alleges that once at the jail, he threatened to harm officers there and blow up the building. If convicted, he faces up to 12 years in prison. Hoffman is due back in court next Tuesday.
