A Weyauwega man is due in Waupaca County Court later this month after allegedly threatening the police chief in Weyauwega. 32 year old Ben Y. Hoffman faces a felony count of threat to a law enforcement officer, along with a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct. The complaint says Chief Jerry Poltrock responded to a disturbance last Wednesday, when a caller said someone was shooting birds out a window. The complaint alleges Hoffman became quite agitated when contacted by Poltrock, and threatened to shoot him with his air rifle. If convicted, Hoffman could face up to 6 years behind bars. He is due in court June 25th.
