A New London man pleaded guilty in Waupaca Co. Circuit Court Friday for felony and misdemeanor charges. Thirty six-year-old Christopher Immel pleaded guilty to a felony charge of operating with restricted controlled substance in blood – 7th, 8th, or 9th offense. Misdemeanor counts of possession of THC and drug paraphernalia were dismissed but read in court. Immel was stopped in the City of Marion in March when an officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana in Immel’s vehicle. Immel faces the maximum sentence of 12-1/2 years in prison. A sentencing hearing date will be scheduled at a later time.
