A New London man will spend time in prison following sentencing on a felony driving under the influence conviction. 36 year old Christopher L. Immel entered a guilty plea to 7th offense operating with a restricted controlled substance, with several other charges dismissed in the plea agreement. Immel was stopped by authorities near Marion this past March, and told deputies he had smoked marijuana in his vehicle shortly before being pulled over. Immel was sentenced to 3 years in state prison, and 3 years extended supervision upon his release. He must also install an ignition interlock device for 3 years, and lost his driving privileges for 3 years.
