Prosecutors say “road rage” is behind the murder that took place in Iola over the weekend. Twenty-three-year-old Tyler Knutson of Iola is accused of stabbing the 42-year-old Mukwonago man, identified with only the initials B.W.T. during a fight in Iola on Saturday night. Knutson faces one count of intentional homicide. According to the criminal complaint, the incident started right outside the Thirsty Perch, after the car Knutson was in was nearly hit by the car the victim was in. Knutson and the victim were passengers in the vehicles. The drivers of both vehicles describe aggressive driving on the part of the other. After both vehicles pulled over at nearby driveways, Knutson indicated to BWT that he was trespassing on private property. Knutson told police he and the victim fell down, while pushing each other. Knutson claims he was worried about the victim breaking his bones, so he took out his pocket knife and “poked” him. The victim was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. It was later determined he died from a single stab wound to the neck about 3” deep. A cash bond for Knutson was set at $500,000 during his initial court appearance Monday afternoon. Knutson is due back in court on February 11th.
