The incumbent Waupaca County District Attorney will have a challenger in this year’s election. Assistant District Attorney Veronica Isherwood filed her declaration of candidacy for the position with the state Government AccountabilityBoard on Monday. Isherwood filed as a Republican, to run against long-time D.A. John Snider in the primary August 9th. It would be the first time Snider has had a challenger since he was first elected in 1986. Isherwood joined the Waupaca County D.A.’s office in the summer of 2014. Prior to that she spent 13 years as an assistant D.A. in Portage County. There she ran as a Democrat for District Attorney in 2012, but was defeated by Louis Molepske, Jr. Again, the primary election is slated for August 9th.
