Sentencing has been set for April 25th for a Waupaca man convicted in the death of his stepson. 29 year-old Joseph A. Jackson entered a no contest plea on Wednesday to a count of neglecting a child resulting in death, a charge reduced from the original count of first degree reckless homicide.
The criminal complaint says Jackson caused the death of the 2 year-old child in May of 2014 when he held the child down face-first on a bed in an attempt to get the child to settle down for a nap. Jackson could be sentenced to up to 25 years in prison. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered in the case.
