A Waupaca man will spend more than a decade in prison in the death of his stepson. 29 year old Joseph Jackson was sentenced Friday in Waupaca County Circuit Court on a conviction of Neglect of a Child resulting in death. The criminal complaint says Jackson caused the two-year old child’s death in May of 2014, by holding him face-down on a bed in an effort to get the child to settle down for a nap. The child stopped breathing, and paramedics were unalbe to revive him. Jackson was ordered to serve 13 years in prison, plus 10 years extended supervision. He was also ordered to pay over 21-hundred dollars in restitution.
