Waupaca County continues to market Lakeview Manor and its surrounding acreage, but so far, no buyers. The county’s property committee this morning got an update on the on-going process of trying to sell the property, which served as the county’s nursing home for nearly a century. The realtor handling the property told the committee that he has several interested buyers, with all those being private buyers. Discussions have occurred with the State Department of Veteran’s Affairs, which had 19 people check out the building just last week, but budgetary issues are holding back any purchase or lease arrangements. The realtor suggested the county first lease the property, because buyers would be more interested in a property currently under use, then someplace sitting empty. The property committee will hold a joint meeting with the county’s finance committee to discuss that option.
