The Waupaca School District business office will be re-figuring budget numbers, after the State Department of Public Instruction this morning released the final general aid totals for school districts for this school year. At last week’s board meeting, Business Manager Karl Hayek was anticipating a loss of 136,600 dollars in state aid for the district. The numbers out today show the Waupaca district actually losing 301-thousand dollars, about 165-thousand more than expected. Before these numbers came out, the district was expecting a decrease in the tax rate of about 10 cents per thousand. No word yet from school officials on how this will change the amount taxpayers will see on their December tax bill.
