A Waupaca man is free on a 5000 dollar signature bond after being charged with a felony count of child abuse– recklessly causing great harm. 19 year old Timothy M. Lauersdorf is alleged to have caused a 6-month old child to suffer a fractured femur in Waupaca this past Sunday. The criminal complaint alleges Lauersdorf threw the child into a couch in anger, with the child’s leg getting trapped in an awkward position. The complaint says the child was taken to the emergency room at ThedaCare– Waupaca hospital, then transferred to Children’s Hospital of Milwaukee. If convicted, Lauersdorf could face up to 15 years in prison. He is due back in court next Tuesday.
