A Waupaca woman is being held on a 2000 dollar cash bond following a drug charge in Waupaca County Court. 23 year old Melanie A. Loper faces a felony count of possession of methamphetamine, along with a misdemeanor count of operating without a valid license– 2nd offense. The criminal complaint says Loper was pulled over by a state trooper in the Town of Fremont last Tuesday. The trooper allegedly found a hypodermic needle filled with meth on the driver’s seat, where Loper was sitting. If convicted, she could face up to 3 and a half years in prison. Loper is due back in court this afternoon.
