A Junction City man was scheduled to be in Portage County Court late this morning on charges related to a stand-off Monday afternoon. The sheriff’s office earlier this morning forwarded recommended charges to the district attorney’s office of 1st degree recklessly endangering safety, operating a firearm while intoxicated, and disorderly conduct against 80 year old Henry Kaminski. Deputies were called to the 11-hundred block of Main Street in Junction City shortly before 3:30 after a neighbor reported that Kaminski fired a gun during a verbal dispute. Kaminski retreated into his home, but later allegedly came out and fired two more shots. No one was injured. The Portage County Special Response Team was called in, and neighboring homes were evacuated. About two hours later, Kaminski came out of his home and was arrested without incident.
