The School District of Manawa began a series of community informational meetings last night, to educate district residents on the upcoming school referendum in November. The district is seeking voter approval on a 12 million dollar referendum, for additions at the junior-senior high school, district-wide renovations, various maintenance projects, and safety and site improvements. The district is also asking for approval to exceed the state revenue limit by 365-thousand dollars next school year, to pay for the demolition of the vacant former elementary building, and return the site to green space. Community meetings coming up include tomorrow (Wednesday) at 8 a.m. at the high school, and next Tuesday at the high school at 11. On Thursday, the 11th, 7 pm meetings are being held at the Town of Royalton and Little Wolf town halls. Other meetings are October 15th at the Town of Lebanon at 7, October 16th in the school board room at 8 am, and October 30th in the high school commons at 6 pm.
