A New London man is headed to prison following sentencing on an arson conviction in Waupaca County Circuit Court. 21 year-old Jesse McLamarrah entered a no contest plea to the charge, along with counts of 2nd degree reckless endangerment, burglary, and marijuana possession.
McLamarrah threw a homemade firebomb at an upstairs apartment door in downtown New London in May of 2014. The resulting fire forced a couple to jump to safety from a 2nd story window, causing serious injuries. McLamarrah then started a fire at the playground at New London High School.
He was ordered to serve five years behind bars, along with five years extended supervision. McLamarrah was also ordered to pay over $100,000 in restitution.
