A member of the “Monfils 6” is being released from prison this month. The “Monfils 6” are the six Green Bay men who were convicted of conspiring together in the murder of Tom Monfils in 1992. Monfils was found dead in a pulp vat at a Green Bay paper mill with a weight tied around his body, supposedly for reporting a co-worker for stealing. Michael Hirn was one of those six convicted in the case. He has been granted parole after 24 years in prison, and is to be released this month. Two of the other men have parole hearings coming up….. one next year, and one in 2021.
