A Racine man is due in Waupaca County Circuit Court later this month facing multiple drug counts. 38 year old Varnell J. Patterson is charged with possession of narcotic drugs and possession of marijuana, both as a second offense. He also faces two counts of possession of amphetamines, possession of a controlled substance, plus charges of battery and disorderly conduct as acts of domestic abuse. The criminal complaint alleges Patterson struck a woman in the face on Waupaca’s east side in early September. While arresting him, authorities allegedly found quantities of multiple drugs in his vehicle and under a mattress in the residence in which he was staying. If convicted, he could face over 10 years in prison. Patterson is due in court on the 29th.
