Waupaca area residents may notice new branding images around the area over the next year or so. The city’s Common Council last night gave unanimous support for the city’s branding project results, and approved the implementation of the brand and its corresponding logo. The work was spearheaded by Ryan Short, the founder of Civic Brands of Richardsville, Texas, a company that specializes in helping communities brand and market themselves. The new logo for the city has variations to be used by the different elements of the area…. tourism, government, business, and local residents. The over-riding theme of the brand is “From the Chain to Main”, incorporating the area’s natural resources with all the other elements that make Waupaca a great place to live or visit. Waupaca Chamber President Terri Schulz says with the city’s approval, they’ll now move forward with implementing the brand.
In other city news, Waupaca has won the Arts in the Community Award from Arts Wisconsin, the only state-wide arts organization. The award will be presented to city officials at the League of Municipalities meeting in Madison October 24th.
