The Manawa football team has a new head coach. The Manawa School Board Monday night approved the hiring of Brad Johnson as the new coach, taking over for former coach Bob Sell. Johnson, an elementary teacher in the district, spent the past four seasons as Wolves’ assistant, including the last two as co-offensive coordinator.
Johnson played high school football for the Wolves, and played Division 3 college football at Ripon College, where he started at running back his last two years, and was team captain his senior year. Johnson has also been the wolves wrestling coach the past three seasons. Manawa posted a 4-5 record on the grid-iron last year. The wolves have had just one winning season in the last six years.
