A New London Man is being held on $500,000 cash bond following an attempted first degree intentional homicide charge in Waupaca County Circuit Court. 25 year-old Sean R. Brigando is also facing felony charges for first degree sexual assault with use of a dangerous weapon, false imprisonment, strangulation and suffocation, intimidation of a victim, substantial battery, and bail jumping.
The criminal complaint alleges Brigando broke a towel rack off a bathroom wall at his rural New London residence, and beat a woman with it. It also alleges he struck the woman over fifty times with his hands and fists, dropped a space heater on her head, and poured soda on her. She was taken to Theda Care New London Hosipital for treatment.
The complaint says she suffered a concussion, plus numerous bruises all over her body. A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for next Monday. Brigando faces over 100 years in prison if convicted.
