Two new felony drunk driving cases have been charged out this week in Waupaca County Circuit Court. 56 year old John J. Starks of Wisconsin Rapids is being held on a 15-hundred dollar cash bond following his arrest for 6th-offense operating while intoxicated. The criminal complaint alleges Starks had a blood-alcohol concentration of .17 percent when stopped by deputies on Highway 10 in the Town of Farmington Saturday. Starks has five prior drunk driving convictions dating back to 2001. He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted on the latest charge. He is due back in court next Tuesday.
Also due in court next Tuesday is 43 year old Chad A. Thuriot of Waupaca, who was arrested Saturday afternoon for his 5th drunk driving after being found asleep at the wheel in a westside parking lot. The criminal complaint says the vehicle was running and in gear at the time. Thuriot’s alleged blood-alcohol concentration was .289 percent, more than three times the legal limit. He was ordered held on a 500 dollar cash bond.
